What this site collects today
Very little. Reading the poems and pages collects no account, no name, and no email address. Poem-a-Week signup is not open yet, so this site currently collects no email addresses at all. The newsletter sections below describe exactly what will happen when signup opens — written down in advance, so the promise exists before the form does.
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate. It works without cookies and does not build profiles of individual readers.
When you subscribe to Poem-a-Week
Subscribing stores your email address and a record of your consent: when you signed up, when you confirmed, and the version of the signup wording you agreed to. Confirmation and unsubscribe links use random tokens that are stored only as one-way hashes — the tokens themselves are never kept, and they are not derived from your email address.
Your address is used for one purpose: sending the weekly poem you asked for. It is never sold, never shared for marketing, and never used to profile you. There is no open- or click-tracking.
Two providers handle data on this site's behalf: Cloudflare, which hosts the site, its analytics, and the subscription records; and Resend, which delivers the email. Both process the data only to provide those services.
How long things are kept
- A signup that is never confirmed is deleted after seven days.
- Delivery details kept for debugging and duplicate protection are removed after 35 days.
- When you unsubscribe, sending stops at once; your raw email address and tokens are removed within 30 days.
- A minimal, pseudonymous record that an address unsubscribed — kept only so the address is not emailed again — is held for up to 12 months, then deleted. Pseudonymous means it cannot be read as your address, but it is not claimed to be fully anonymous.
Unsubscribing and deletion
Every issue carries an unsubscribe link. Leaving needs no login, and repeated requests are harmless. Because subscriptions are checked again immediately before each send, an email already queued at the moment you leave could still arrive — after that, no more.
To have your record deleted entirely, or to ask any question about this page, contact the publisher through the Pawn Island imprint. Deletion requests are honored; the pseudonymous suppression record is the only thing kept afterward, and only so your address is never emailed again.
